Describe a time when you were late for something important.
You should say:
When it was?
Why you were late?
How you managed the situation and explain how you felt about it?
Let me share with you a time that I was late for an important occasion. A couple of month ago, my friends and I intended to throw a surprise birthday party for Ann. After we decided the time and location for this party, my friends asked me to hold the birthday cake and sing the birthday song while Ann shows up at the restaurant. Since it is a one-hour drive to the restaurant, I supposed to be wisely of using my time. However, I forgot to consider traffic congestion. On top of that, the taxi that I had booked in advance came late for about 15 minutes, which was also unanticipated for me. On my way to the restaurant, I told the taxi driver to drive as fast as he could or to take a short cut. But he told me we had already been held up in traffic, so there was nothing he could do but waiting. In this way, I ended up being late at least half an hour for Ann's birthday party. When I got there, the party already got started. I felt terrible! I told my friends I was sorry for being late and I would make it up by treating them to lunch in a fancy restaurant. They told me no worries. Afterwards, I think I should put punctual as my priority or I will take the consequences of being late.
