Lesson23 A new house 新居

I had a letter from my sister yesterday. She lives in Nigeria. In her letter, she said that she would come to England next year. If she comes, she will get a surprise. We are now living in a beautiful new house in the country. Work on it had begun before my sister left. The house was completed five months ago. In my letter, I told her that she could stay with us. The house has many large rooms and there is a lovely garden. It is a very modern house, so it looks strange to some people. It must be the only modern house in the district.

From The Sister's View:

I wrote a letter to my brother at the beginning of this month. In the letter, I told him that I will go back to England and meet him next summer. Two years passed since I left there to Nigeria. I received his reply this morning. In his letter, he told me that they are living in the beautiful new house which had started to work before I left and was still buidling until five months ago. My brother said I can live with them because there are many large rooms in the house and it have a lovely garden. He also told me that it might be the only modern house in the district, so it looks strange to some people. Emm, I am looking forward to next summer now.

My niece Jane had been lived with us before. Then she has gone to Nigeria to study for two years. We lived in an small old house when she was here. We had started to build a new house before she left and the house completed five months ago. I designed the building in a modern style of which character is bright and colored. I also designed a large and beautiful garden for it. Jane wrote a letter to his brother John -- my son, and told him that she will come back England next year. I asked John to tell her to live with us again as we have many large empty rooms.
