The mind of detachment is definitely not an emotional feeling. It is a mind of genuine detachment produced after getting a clear view of the ever-changing fundamental substance of things.(page 159)
What was even more tragic was that, even though all those who took part in this game were like this. every one of them considered this pain and suffering to be inevitable,blamed the external world for it. He had tried many methods to reduce this pain and suffering ,but other than facing his own mind and spirit, none of these methods helped the situation. So he came to understand that unless a person dares to acknowledge his previous ignorance, doubt the whole entrenched system of thought and behavioral norms, and pursue wisdom and truth by a method that is not necessarily accepted by the conventional world, he will keep on suffering.(page 160-161)
