It has been quite long time for me to write an article about what I learn in TTT workshop. The reason why it took so long to start my first writing is that I am procrastinated. And what's important is that it takes time to digest what I learn and put them into practice.
Now it is the time! I found the magic of presentaion pyramid-a very practical and simple structure for communication.
Build your Presentaion Pyramid
Arrange your points like this and your Presentation Pyramid is now your new BFF, constant companion, soul mate, lover, mentor, and guide as you prepare the other juicy bits of your presetation.
This sentence quotes from Jeff's book.
Put them into practice and grad every chance to improve
Only I learn something, I will try my best to put them into practice. Amost everywhere.
1、Argument with My Boss
One of mycolleague found some excuse to backpass some work boss assigned. I was pissed off when boss called me just because my colleague chatted with another the whole morning! How can I bear all this! So I did some investigation about the whole issue and then talked to my boss calmly.
My purpose of this talk is to persuede my boss stop assigning me the extra work.
1st key point: I have already finished work u assigned to me. (to soothe the boss's nerves)
supporting points: u can check them after u back. What's more, I delivered to someone will take charge for that.
2nd key point: It only took 5 min to finish the work while she just chat with other person the whole morning.
supporting points: I show u what I obeseved as an fact. No judgement during the whole report.
3rd key point: All the colleagues who were assigned the work all finished except her.
supporting points: By contrast, this can enhance my points.
My boss just said yes on the phone and speechless. I protected my rights..
2、Mandarin Speech Contest
I didn‘t have any inspiration 3 hours before the contest. I talked to my friend and my friend enlighted me. Within 30min, I drew the basic struture of the speech. And I made the rehearsal in my mind again and again as time limited. As a result, it was a great success. Without speech draft, I felt relieved. I could follow my flow and act more natually. I even had very good interaction with audience. The whole process is like playing pingpong by back and forth. My body language and gesture were natural according to the flow of the speech. This was the first time I enjoyed the stage when delivering prepared speech. And audience did too.
Presentaion Pyramid is magic. It is more than a presentation basic struture. The usage of that can be expanded to almost all the communication scene.
We can say: simple is the best, deserve spreading.
Let's put into practice whenever you need.
