Pericles(Periklēs):伯里克利

(希腊文:Περικλῆς,英文:Pericles,约公元前495—公元前429),古希腊奴隶主民主政治的杰出的代表者,古代世界著名的政治家之一。

Pericles was a prominent and influential Greek statesman, orator and general of Athens during the Golden Age—specifically the time between the Persian and Peloponnesian wars.

Pericles promoted the arts and literature; it is principally through his efforts that Athens holds the reputation of being the educational and cultural center of the ancient Greek world. He started an ambitious project that generated most of the surviving structures on the Acropolis(雅典卫城)(including the Parthenon 帕特农神庙). This project beautified and protected the city, exhibited its glory, and gave work to the people.Pericles also fostered Athenian democracy to such an extent that critics call him a populist.

Abraham   亚伯拉罕

Abraham, originally Abram, is the first of the three patriarchs of JudaismAbraham, his son Isaac, and Isaac's son Jacob, also named Israel, the ancestor of theIsraelites.). His story features in the holy texts of all the Abrahamic religions and Abraham plays a prominent role as an example of faith in Judaism,Christianity, and Islam.

Amraphel

In the Bible'sOld Testament, Amraphel was a king of Shinar (Sumer) in Genesis 14,who invaded Canaan(迦南) along with other kings under the leadership of Chedorlaomer, king of Elam. Chedorlaomer's coalition defeated Sodom and the other Cities of the Plain in the Battle of the Vale of Siddim.

Beginning with E. Schrader in 1888 this king was usually associated with Hammurabi, who ruled Babylonia from 1792 BC until his death in 1750 BC. However, according to The Oxford Companion to the Bible (1993), this view has been largely abandoned in recent years. According to John Van Seters in Abraham in History and Tradition, the existence of Amraphel is unconfirmed by any sources outside the Bible.
