这是我的第55篇日记。

The two girls were silently taking notes, uneasy in mind and yet feeling that they were on the verge of discovering a wonderful secret.

「take note (of sth)」 ：to pay attention to something 注意、留意到某事；想表达“提醒自己要做某事”时，就可以说「make a mental note to do」，比如：He made a mental note to arrange a time to meet her. 他提醒自己要安排一个时间与她见面。

两个小女孩儿默默地观察着，忐忑不安地觉得她们正在接近一个伟大的秘密。小孩子的好奇心啊...

1. 「row」:  常见的意思是“一排，一行”，此处是“争吵，吵架”的意思。

原句：She hasn’t been in any row lately, for Mother hasn’t been nagging at her as she always used to, and I’m sure we’ve not been troublesome
