马修：对我而言他们之间的催化剂是魔形女。我认为重点是三人关系（threesome)。

[Speaking about Michael, you two have a wonderful dynamic in the film, did you two spend a lot of time working on that?]
James: Um…We spent about a week in rehearsals, talking about the kind of dynamic we wanted to have, talking about the kind of moments we wanted to share on screen together. And just by doing that I think, we kind of collude to…not only what each other’s gonna do, but, how we are gonna do it. Um…and…we just talked a lot. We shared similar tastes in what we like and don’t like. It was just that easy. Thankfully, both of us are quite open. Quite happy to be vulnerable in front of each other and make bad decisions in front of each other. There was no guardedness, we just…you know…anything went…um…and we didn’t have to sort of be shy in front of each other.So it was…it was good.
Michael: We worked a lot on how we…how to best sort of show that journey, you know. Cause it’s difficult…you don’t want to make any sort of broad strokes with paint brush or make any cruel sort of leaps in terms of the relationship. It’s got to be delicately dealt with. And so we…we worked a lot on sort of the scenes, in what order the scene should come in, and what development should happen where. That was a lot of work for sure. We had meetings before we started. Then she[Jane Goldman] went off and came back with a scene that really encompass everything that we all felt…was crucial. Lots of homework and prep to get those scenes right, so there’s nothing there surplus. ）
